“Don’t Wanna Change The World” became Phyllis’ first No. 1 R&B Single.
Acclaimed performances in Britain and Japan and throughout the U.S. reaffirmed her popularity and in 1991, PIR released Prime Of My Life, another stellar album with primary production by Nick Martinelli (among others) which yielded Phyllis’ first No. 1 R&B single with the upbeat “Don’t Wanna Change The World.” In all, the CD gave Phyllis three back-to-back Top 10 R&B hits, notably “When You Get Right Down To It” and her own co-penned, “Living In Confusion.” Other standouts, such as “Meet Me On The Moon” and “I Found Love,” proved popular during Phyllis’ shows with the likes of Bill Withers, Jonathan Butler and Will Downing.
